In recent decades, the pharmaceutical industry has employed innovative, cutting edge technology to undertake research, and to develop new drugs which deliver immense value to society. In comparison, there has been relatively little emphasis on manufacturing processes, so many of these products are still typically produced using batch processes that have been developed empirically and that are also relatively inefficient.
‘Embracing Qualith by Design and Process Analytical Technology’, featured in CPhI, looks at the introduction of these initiatives and how modern powder characterization techniques make an important contribution to a better understanding of powder behaviour by providing process relevant data.
