Developing a design space for a die filling operation

Developing a design space for a die filling operation

Filling machines of various designs are used extensively throughout industry. The efficient operation of a filling machine relies on choosing a system that suits the formulation. Fill weights and tolerances vary widely and the properties that influence efficiency will depend on the type of equipment being used, e.g. gravity driven or force-fed as well as factors such as geometry of the feedframe, flow rate through the process and characteristics of the powder. This variation presents a complex challenge.

In the application note ‘Developing a Design Space for a Die Filling Operation’, we explain how to gain an understanding of the relationships between powder characteristics and process performance to match filling-machine geometry to the demands of specific formulations.

The application note is also available in Chinese and Japanese.
